Did we all survive the Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse? You’re going to have to find out by reading today’s chapter, the final chapter, later today over at www.kseniaanske.com. Today’s offering is brought to you by the newest writer to join the Apocalypse Collective, Kevin Nielsen.

Kevin Nielsen

Looking at Kevin‘s blog, it’s obvious that he loves to write. I urge you to take a look at his work there. His Facebook page has some great photgraphs of him, though he does not show a recent pic of himself since he decided to shave his head! Only the chrome dome and eyes are visible, so i took it upon myself to choose an image to represent him here.

I apologize to Kevin, because i think he did submit a bio, but i can’t find it anywhere, and so i only have limited information about him.

Kevin is a native of Quebec, Canada, and he currently is a Document Management Agent in the Financial Aids and Awards department at the University of Ottawa.

As already mentioned, he has a blog and he is active on Facebook, but you can also find him on Twitter.

It’s not much to go on, i know, but you’ll definitely be hearing more from Kevin and the other writers who make up the Apocalypse Collective in the very near future as we have another project looming; one that is secret for the moment, but i will tell you that it involves the writers who are taking part writing 10 times the amount of words that we wrote in this project, so get ready for some great reading! We look forward to your continued support in all of our efforts, and hope that you have enjoyed and will continue to enjoy all that we bring to your reading table.

In addition to thanking you, the reader, i must thank the wonderful Ksenia Anske for bringing the team together and inspiring us all to do what we do: write, and for hosting the story on her wonderful website!

And then there are the writers to thank! Each and every single one of you i consider to be my friend and a wonderful writer. It has been a joy working with you all, and so i say thank you to:

Becky Flade; Brandon Yusuf Toropov; Seth Werkheiser; Andrew Hovenden; Sandra Hould; Doug Karlson; Dustin McKenzie; Michel Lee King; Aliaa El-Nashar; Sheila Hall; Kai Kiriyama; JLuis Licea; Colleen M. Albert; Rosalind Smith-Nazilli; LoriLesko; Barry NoVa; Catherine Scully; M.C. Oneill; Kevin Nielsen.

And as a bonus for those of you who are wondering about the photo at the beginning of this blog entry, it’s a pic of a friend of mine, Alice Armstrong. She’s a model, performance artist, a COS player and SFX make-up artist.

You can find her on Facebook here, and she has a professional Facebook page here, where you can see examples of her work and find out details of how to book her.

Here’s the lovely lady herself, without the make-up and bunny ears!

Divine Intervention In Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 19

Tomorrow sees the end of what has been a wonderful experience for me as a writer. It has been a joy to work with every single one of the writers in the Apocalypse Collective, and we have become good friends and will continue to work together on future projects, one of which begins in May. Details of this new poject will remain under wraps for now, but it promises to be a much bigger undertaking, and we all hope that you will support us in the venture.

Today, though, we bring to you the penultimate chapter of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse, written by the amazing M. C. O’Neill, whose writing style and subject knowledge suits these last 3 chapters down to the ground! You can read it at www.kseniaanske.com.

Author, M. C. O’Neill.

What can i tell you of Mark? The man has done it all! The son of a JAG working with the US Army, he majored in Graphic Design and
minored in Art History and Biology at Indiana University before being accepted into the Painting program at the University of Cincinnati, soon becoming a Professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati.

Realizing that a career in academia was not for him, he left to work in the corporate sector as a Prototype designer, where he made models for many companies the names of which you will be very familiar. After a stint in that line of work, he became a therapist at an addictions clinic, then gave that up to work from home inking and designing comic books, giving him the chance to work on some very famous publications. After that, as work in the comic book industry became harder to secure, he paid the bills doing freelance paralegal work, before finally deciding to realize his ambition as a writer.

His novel, The Ancients and the Angels: Celestials is book 1 of a series and is available in paperback and for Kindle, with the second book in the series, Archons due for release in April 2013.

Always in demand, Mark is a regular on shows such as the Vinny Eastwood Show and the Jeff Daugherty Show.

Mark can always be reached via his website, Twitter, Facebook and Goodreads, which, incidentally has just become an Amazon company.

Tomorrow, we feature Andrew Nielsen, the man who wraps it all up! Yes, he’s the author of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 20, so please join us for the finale. And bring chocolate eggs, but only ones that have cleared inspection! We don’t want any exploding heads now, do we!

Ye Gods! (And Goddessess) It’s Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 18

Catherine is one of the newest writers to join the writing team, and let me tell you, she has done an amazing job!

Tomorrow we feature the author of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 19, a man wh has done it all, got bored with it and found his true calling in life as a writer: the amazing M. C. O’Neill.

Peter makes a return to Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse in chapter 17, brought to you by the fantastic Barry NoVa. Read it at www.kseniaanske.com.

Barry NoVa

D.r. Barrington NoVa, A.d.h.d, T.h.C, but more commonly known as Baz or Barry. Born sometime ago in the hazy days of the 80’s, grown in a normal house by fairly normal people, in the garden of England. He started to show signs of rebelling from normality long before his first decade was complete. Instead of wanting to be a fireman or a tradesman, he wanted to be He-Man, a conviction he held close well into his 20’s. But after a long and treacherous dusty road, he came to the conclusion that he could not become He-Man, not without taking large amounts of steroids and hallucinogens at any rate. So he decided that using the gift of creativity he had harnessed so well as a child would be the only way he could truly be at one with the universe’s vibrations and walk around with a smile on his face.

“A writer I shall be!” he exclaimed, one day.

Then after several years of not doing anything about it, he grew a pair and finally manned up.
This is his power, his light, his divine path…his…his…er…yeah!

Welcome to the party pals…

I decided to let Barry tell you all about himself in his own words, rather than write about him and add a small piece that he wrote. All of the above regarding Barry came from the man himself! And he has honoured you all with a photograph of himself! That’s as rare as rocking horse shit! Respect is due!

Breaking news! Extra Barry NoVa information just became available! Actually, it didn’t. I just forgot about a previous e-mail from him until now! Barry‘s 6ft 2in, in size 12 shoes (UK) (size 13 US), and his weight is a closely guarded national secret!

Barry is active on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, and he has a website

Nothing more need be said, really. Just go and get your asses over to Ksenia‘s site and treat yourselff to a fantastic chapter. The end is nigh, peeps! Only another 3 chapters to go after today, and i promise you, we’ve saved the best to last, as we have a new writer on board to take the place of Franza Dirnberger. His name is Kevin Nielsen, and you’ll be seeing him deliver the death blow, quite possibly in chapter 20!

Tommorow, we feature the author of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 18, Cat Scully, who i must say, filled in absolutely seamlessly!

Enter…Frank! It’s Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 16!

Enter… Frank!

Chapter 16 of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse sees the introduction of a wonderful character, Frank. It has been written by the wonderful Lori Lesko, and you will laugh so hard reading it, i promise, because the humour in it is just great!

Lori Lesko, getting into the spirit of the story!

Lori was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She studied Photography for a year at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and traveled all the way to Arkansas to attend college, where she graduated with a Degree in Psychology and Theatre. Lori loves to travel.

Lori‘s first book is a novella, but she also likes to write screenplays on the side. Her novella, Our Daughters has recently been transformed into a screenplay, Diamond City.

Lori is active on TwitterFacebook and Google+. She also has a website.

Tomorrow, we feature the author of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 17, Barry NoVa.

Behind Every Great Bunny, There’s An Even Greater…never mind. I got that wrong. Here’s Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 15

Beatrix-Bunny-1024x768
Beatrix Bunny, Easter’s better(?) half

Beatrix, Easter’s wife makes an appearance in chapter 15 of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse, brought to you all by the lovely and very talented Rosalind Smith-Nazilli. You can read it at www.kseniaanske.com.

Rosalind-Smith-Nazilli
NOT Rosalind Smith-Nazilli, though she is a lovely looking girl, especially with those bunny ears! Her image has not been shown to ensure her anonymity as an author of erotica.

Rosalind left the UK fifteen years ago to give it a go at making a home and a living abroad, and now spends 50% of her time writing, mainly writing flash fiction and material of the erotica genre. Rosalind is always writing, and has a body of work from earlier on in her life that she is constantly  revisiting and rewriting. She has published her erotica fiction before, and says of it:

I went ahead and e published a collection of flash fiction that to my complete amazement received fifteen, four and five-star reviews. My best advice to any one reading this is “Never say Never.”

I am a writer with the concentration span of a goldfish. I am also as mad as a box of frogs. How do I know this you may wonder? Because I learned a very long time ago, after a huge part of my life was misspent, that it’s the only way to survive.

I’m sorry to disappoint all the readers who had hopes of getting a glimpse of the “real” Rosalind. The very nature of erotica writing means that Rosalind must ensure her anonymity. though she did publish a photograph of herself wearing a great set of bunny ears on Twitter at the beginning of this project! If you missed it – too late! It’s gone now. I will tell you, the reader that Rosalind does not disappoint when it comes to looks. Imagine a more mature version of her Twitter avi, with sun-bleached hair and you have her! Or do you?

Rosalind has two websites: her main blog, and her erotica website.

She is active on TwitterFacebook, and Google+.

Tomorrow, we feature the author of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 16, Lori Lesko.

As a special bonus for you all today, seeing as Rosalind is a writer of erotic fiction, i’m sure she will take great pleasure in joining me when i wish all the readers of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse a spanking good Easter!

Spanking-Good-Easter
Have a Spanking Good Easter, everybody!

Glowing WordPress Logo

I moved away from WordPress.com yesterday. I took the brave step of buying my own domain name and having my website hosted elsewhere, though i am running the WordPress engine server-side, because it is a wonderful tool for creating and maintaiining your own website.

There is so much to play about with on WordPress.com, and when you leave and move to a self-hosted WordPress installation, you are suddenly hit by the fact that a lot of those great tools, themes and widgets are not there for you to use any more.

Plus you’re under an obligation to learn a lot about WordPress itself in a very short space of time, just to get your new website up and running!

I didn’t even know that you in fact installed WordPress on your webspace, not on your computer! I was baffled because i couldn’t see a setup.exe file anywhere! Time to get one’s hands dirty and fire up the web browser, do a LOT of searching, and a hell of a lot of reading!

The website of the company who hosts my site and who i bought my domain name from have an extremely difficult website to navigate, and i did nothing for an hour after i had handed my money over but fret and scour the site for information on how to get started. Needless to say, within a couple of hours i was getting quite conversant with WordPress and the Control Panel software of my site host.

Once i had exported my old site from WordPress.com as an .xml file and then imported it into WordPress on my new domain, i was back up and running, though with very much reduced functionality. It has taken me a full 24 hours to get it to more or less how i want it, with all of the tools and widgets i need, and a few more besides! It’s not 100%, but it isn’t far off!

And i have my own mail server and redirect now, too! It’s so easy setting it up, and knowing that anyone who mails me at david{AT} davidecclesauthor{DOT}co{DOT}uk will ultimately reach me at my Gmail address is just brilliant! The Control Panel software supplied by my hosting company is just a dream to work with! It’s been a ball-ache, but well worth it, because all of the work i’ve had to do has given me a much deeper understanding of how WordPress works.

As for php, MySQL, and all the rest of the magical stuff one can get to grips with – i’ll cross that bridge when i come to it!

Things are hotting up, as you will see in today’s episode, chapter 13 of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse, brought to you by the great writing of JLuis Licea. You can read it at www.kseniaanske.com.

jluis-licea
JLuis Licea

J. Luis is an aspiring writer who is currently working on an urban fantasy novel for young adults, The Empire’s Curse. He says that when he writes, his head expels out words and welcomes in new, bigger ideas. He loves the life of a writer and wishes he could have enough knowledge and resources to continue doing it, maybe, for the rest of his life.

He doesn’t just like writing. He also loves food, traveling, strange places, cookies, and chocolate. And everything else in this planet; he is a tree hugger. Loves, loves , loves nature!

I’m addicted to dark chocolate, but I’m afraid of the dark. I sometimes smile, I sometimes cry. But I always seem happy. Or maybe I’m just drunk. Don’t expect normal. I’m a writer. (Is that an excuse for my weirdness?)

JLuis is active on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Goodreads and just about everywhere else you can think of!

Tomorrow’s featured author is Colleen M. Albert, writer of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse chapter 14.

A Great Day!

reading
Read a new author! They’ll thank you for it!

Yesterday, i read a Tweet from the fantastic author, James Roy Daley, founder and owner of BOOKS of the DEAD PRESS, advertising the fact that they were open for submissions of pieces of flash fiction no more than 400 words in length.

Recognising the fact that unpublished writers like myself have only a very small reading audience and few fans, and that we write for nothing, he has taken the decision to showcase unknown writers who are of a decent standard, thereby giving them the benefit of increased readership, as his site has had over 1,000 visitors in the last 2 days alone! What a marvellous guy! It’s great for someone such as myself to find someone who sees how hard it can be to make a name for yourself, and for that person to stand up and say, “Hey. I’ll give you a helping hand.”

A good friend and co-writer of Easter Bunny’s Apocalypse, Sandra Hould had been successful in her submission, and was featured on BOOKS of the DEAD PRESS yesterday. You can read Sandra’s story, The “V” Syndrome Vaccine here. I edited her work before submission, and as soon as i found out that her piece had been accepted, i decided to write a piece of my own and try my luck.

The tale i wrote began as a conversation between my brother and i yesterday morning, about his having to cancel a dental appointment. Something that he said made me laugh and triggered my “story switch”, so i filed it away in memory to use in a story later that day. I played around with it, altering things here and there, and i could visualize it in my head as if i was watching a movie, and it may have only been 396 words in length, but it took me until this morning, working non-stop during the night to get it “right”. I din’t get to bed until around 5.30am!

I was happy with what i had written. James had asked for our best work, and i delivered just that, and now there was nothing to do but play the waiting game, with everything crossed! Earlier this afternoon, i received an e-mail from James Roy Daley, informing me that my submission had been succesful! Attached to the e-mail was a minimally edited copy of my story. James wanted to know if his edits were acceptable, and i was to let him know whether or not to go ahead and publish. The story is better for the small edits; of that i have no doubt. Any writer who thinks that his or her story will be published without being editing is delusional. I’ve a message for you: you’re not perfect!

Within minutes of my reply, my story was emblazoned on the screen of my laptop. It felt great to have a little recognition, no matter how small. And how James Roy Daley described my writing! He said i reminded him of…

To find out who i reminded him of, you’ll just have to go and read my story, The Teeth Police. Read it on BOOKS of the DEAD PRESS, or on my blog, here. Wherever you choose to read it, please feel free to drop by my blog and leave a comment. After all, it’s the surest way that writers like me know that we are being read and enjoyed!
